Kevin Slimp taught his first Photoshop class for the Kentucky Press Association in 1995. When asked to teach the class, the organizer told Kevin to expect 15 to 20 attendees. When Kevin arrived in Lexington, Kentucky to teach the class, almost 200 newspaper publishers, editors, and designers were in attendance.

Kevin taught his first InDesign class in 1999, just a few days after the application became available. He had been involved in the development of the product as a beta tester for more than two years and taught a class of 98 newspaper designers in a hotel ballroom in Phoenix, Arizona.

In this session, Kevin will share some of the most valuable advanced tools in both InDesign and Photoshop. Unsurprisingly, InDesign and Photoshop were meant to be used together. What surprises some users is that tools are built into the applications to create a seamless workflow between the two.
